Pricing for Biochar and Rock-Stored Carbon projects is designed to keep certification accessible for both small and large companies. The total cost depends on the size of the project, the ability for upfront payment and the selected payment structure. Oncra offers different pricing and payment options to lower barriers for participation and support wider adoption of carbon storing practices.
A flat fee per Project submitted for assessment based on the project size:

The fixed Project fee covers the standard activities required to establish and administer the Project, including preparation and assessment of the Project Design Document, account management and creation and maintenance of the Project page in the Oncra Registry.
In addition to the flat fee per project, there is a fee per Carbon Removal Unit issued. The project may choose between two options:

Validation and verification are carried out by an independent third-party Validation and Verification Body. These costs are not included in the Oncra fee and are invoiced separately by the selected third party. The final fee depends on the project type, project size, complexity, documentation quality and required site visits. The currently expected costs per project are €2000,- for the joint validation and verification. Projects are responsible for arranging and paying these costs directly to the third party, unless agreed otherwise.
