The Oncra Guidelines are the overarching rulebook for the Oncra certification framework. They explain how Oncra works, how projects are assessed, and which general rules apply to certification. The document describes the main procedures for governance, project registration, registry use, verification, transparency, complaints and safeguards. It also sets out the basic principles that all Oncra projects must follow. More detailed technical rules for specific carbon removal methods are included in the separate protocols.

The current active Guidelines (1 July, 2026), used for the CRCF application, can be found here.
