The Oncra Protocols contain the more detailed technical rules for specific types of carbon removal. They explain how different removal methods are assessed, measured, monitored and verified within the Oncra framework. Each protocol builds on the general Oncra Guidelines, but gives more specific requirements for a particular carbon storage pathway or project type. Oncra has categorized all certification pathways in four protocols.
